Korumburra & Poowong Parish Seek a New Rector
March 12th, 2025

The Parish of Korumburra and Poowong seeks a Rector, five days per week, to continue to grow the churches and serve the community. Both centres in the Parish have been ministering for more than 100 years and are well maintained, along with a newly renovated brick family home next to St Paul’s and the Anglican Hall in Korumburra.
Set in the green hills of South Gippsland, Korumburra and Poowong are within commuting distance of Melbourne and are growing as housing estates flourish, with increased numbers of people working from home. These centres have enthusiastic and welcoming congregations eager to see this growth reflected in the life and mission of the Parish.
Many in the towns suffer from financial hardship and other social pressures and rely on the community services available. Over the years, this has provided opportunities to serve the Lord and build programs to support those in need. These ministries are looking for a priest to lead them in the next phase of their development.
Within the Parish there exists a dedicated and energetic group of lay leaders and church members who actively involve themselves in worship and outreach activities. They currently have a part-time Family Lay Minister who runs a weekly Mainly Music program for young families, as well as weekly service responsibilities at St Paul’s Korumburra.
